11 Aug: Shoulder bag: Sew Hip pattern

Another thing I knocked up during Wallander. Actually this one was started during Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid and finished last night.

The original pattern recommended two heavyweight cottons in constrasting patterns. I couldn’t find anything I liked that much, so I combined a jacquard weave (the maroon spotty stuff) and a lovely denim for the outer bag with a piece of Liberty Tana Lawn for the lining (all oddments from posh fabric shops).

Quite pleased with the results (though I got the handle a bit wrong). I’ve also got enough denim left to make that cute skirt.
