Cousin A came to visit, carrying a pile of Brio for Ceej, and other presents. We went over to Mum’s for soup and salad, then down to Dulwich to see the Age of Enchantment exhibition in the Gallery.
The exhibition was pleasant enough. Mum and I had a few hippy flashbacks. One of Dad’s best friends adored Beardsley, and had enormous posters of Salome all over his flat. His wife was my childminder, so I spent my early years among the likes of Beardsley and Rackham. It was a bit odd, seeing what were essentially book illustrations out of context. Anyway, Ceej was slightly bored by peering at tiny pictures, but liked the animal pictures in the bigger gallery.
